Michael Bond

Michael Bond was born January 13th 1926.  He first began writing in 1945 when he sold a story called _ to a magazine.  A Bear Called Paddington was his first book published. The company was called William Collins and Sons.  Then he found out that A Bear Called Paddington was becoming a hit and started a whole series.  In 1997, he won an OBE for services to children's literature.  He has a total of 150 books and most of them are with Paddington the Bear.  He loves Paddington the Bear and he loves to write about him.  Michael Bond was on the Brittish Army.  Before he wrote about Paddington, he wrote radio plays.
