A Bear Called Paddington

Bears

Picture
Bears have thick fur and most of them live north of the equator.  Bears eat meat, fruit, and different kinds of plants. No bears that are wild live in Africa, Antarctica, or Austrialia.  In the winter, Bears sleep and it is called hibernation.  They all store food, and they eat if they get hungry.  Bears could live alone or they can live in groups.  The numbers of cubs a female has at a time is about 1-4.  The cubs come during the female's hibernation. Only one bear lives in South America, the spectacled bear.  A bear uses its claw to dig up roots, ants, termits, and other food, or tear its prey.  Bears have lived on the world for over 50 thousand years ago. A bear can stand up to 10 feet high.  They can have 40 to 42 teeth.  When they are born they don't have any fur and their eyes are closed, but after 10 days they have thick fur and their eyes are still closed.
